Templates, Modules and Applications
Designs, Templates & Themes
Our Free design templates are licensed
for use on your esseff website. If you choose for some reason to move
your site, you will have to make arrangements with Theme Magic or whichever other
vendor your design/theme came from. If you purchased a design template for your site, it
is transferable to wherever you go.
Web Modules
Web Modules are programs or whole applications
that can be added to your site to give it great power. By using any of our
Modules or Applications, you agree to the full
Software End User License Agreement for the application acquired or
the Module User Agreement for our
smaller web modules.
Storage and Bandwidth
The Unlimited Plan
Esseff
Digital, LLC and it’s EugeneCommerce hosting packages have unlimited storage
and bandwidth allotment. (Does not apply to microsites) This is now known as our Unlimited Plan. We set some
rules and guidelines for using our resources. These rules are designed to
prevent those few who would take advantage of the Unlimited Plan (at everyone
else's expense) from doing so. We're sure you'll agree, the rules are, well,
just plain common sense.
The
Unlimited Plan, by its nature, is subject to a number of differing and/or
additional terms. The Company provides the unlimited space and unlimited
transfer in good faith to our Customers so that they may create their Web sites
without the fear of running over their Web space or Web traffic allocation.
While most Customers will use the extra Web space and traffic for their
legitimate Web site needs, we recognize that others may try to take advantage of
our offer and use the space and traffic in ways for which it is not intended. In
the best interests of our Customers and in an effort to maintain the integrity
of our service, the following common sense rules will apply:
1.
Customer's site must use and store only the information and data that relates to
the Web site provided by the Company.
2.
Customer may not resell or give away Web space under a domain name, nor may
Customer build Web sites that house "sub domain" Web sites on behalf
of other companies, groups or individuals.
3.
Customer may not use Customer's Web site to store Web pages, files or data for
other IP addresses or domain names, nor may Customer use its Web site as a
repository for file, data or "Warez group" download transfers. The
Company reserves the right to make this determination, in its sole and absolute
discretion.
4.
Customer may not use its Web site as a storage area for files that are not
linked to Customer's Web pages. That is, the unlimited space and unlimited
traffic are provided for User's Web site, not for Customer's personal file
storage.
5.
The Company's "unlimited traffic and storage" offer is to provide the
Company's customers with storage space and bandwidth for active Web pages and
cannot be used as a "storage space" for electronic files. An example
of sites that fall under "electronic storage" are large archives of
images, compressed files, movies, or sound files. All HTML pages MUST be linked
to files (HTML, .jpg, .gif, etc.) stored on Company's server and vice versa.
6.
The Company does not permit sites in the Unlimited Plan where 20% or more of the
monthly traffic is from file downloads, or sites that use more than 10% of
system resources, or sites which in the Company's view are detrimental to the
enjoyment of the Company services by the Company's other clients, or are in the
sole and final judgment of the Company, detrimental to network or business
operations.
7.
CGI/PERL chat, JAVA chat or any other chat scripts are also not allowed and are
considered an abuse of unlimited bandwidth. Any CGI/PERL, JAVA or any other
scripts that consume large amounts of CPU usage or memory are also not
permitted.
8.
Microsoft Media is permitted for clients who have elected and ordered the
Company's Microsoft Media Package. All Microsoft Media packages have traffic
and data storage measured and metered independently from any limited or
unlimited Web hosting plans. All
Microsoft Media content must be stored on the designated Microsoft Media server.
EmailMail Restrictions
E-mail
Restrictions:
Email is designed for employees of a company, We do not support
giving out free email addresses
to subscribers, or members (depending on your package). Abuses of this are
handled on a case by case basis. There is a 10MB limit on a
mailbox,
which is plenty for most users. Please understand that email servers are
not meant to be used for transferring large files. Your mailbox
size does count against your site disk space limit, and your bandwidth use, however
again, abuses to this rule are handled on a case by case basis.
Sending
mass email:
We do not allow you to use our mail servers to send mass
mailings, or
newsletters. This is for performance reasons. If you need to
send up
to 1000 emails, please contact us to arrange for a program to send these
emails
from your web site (you may use our Ezine I or II subscription systems
to handle medium to very large mailing lists. If you need to send more than this, you will
need to use SMTP on your local
server, or find another service to send the emails for you.
We do not offer any
list server/mailing list services at this time.
However, we do have a number of customers that run their own "list
server" to send mailings to current customers programmatically.
With only a few lines of ASP code, you can loop through your database of
customer email addresses and send out a emails using an ASPEmail,
a component we support. We have licensed the Premium edition, you can use
its SendToQueue method, which allows you to send out hundreds of emails
almost instantly, rather then your script running for hours to complete
with traditional Send methods that wait for every email to actually be
sent before reading the next email address. Also, when you do it this
way, you have a lot more control over personalizing the emails you send,
since you can include customer-specific information in the email. Please
keep in mind that we do not support sending more than a thousand emails
at one time (for performance reasons) If you need to send more than that
per day, here are some alternatives for you:
1. Get a dedicated server, and send as many as you
like from it. You can get information on dedicated servers by
contacting
us.
2. Set up a WIN2K or NT server at your local office,
(or similar), and send as many emails as you like from your local SMTP
server. (This is the easiest solution!)
3. Find a third party that will send the bulk emails
for you.
4. Use a software package on your local computer that
uses SMTP locally to send the emails, for example, http://www.usa-e-mail.net/
or http://www.marketing-2000.net/ (please do not use your email account
on our email servers to send the mail.)
5. If you are using our servers to send < one
thousand emails, please do this between the hours of 11PM and 3AM, PST.
Here is a typical example of why we don't allow you to send more than one
thousand emails per day:
Let's say you send 5000 emails to the queue. Then,
imagine a customer of another web site on the server places an order,
and the system sends an email to notify the vendor to ship the product.
That email has to sit for hours until it gets it's turn to be sent!
